Taoism and Emotional Regulation

Updated: Mar 3, 2022

An Upcoming Class by Dr. Jaz in Encinitas, California

In June 2020, Dr. Jaz will be teaching a course on the role of emotions and how they affect the body from a Taoist perspective.

More Than Just a Feeling

Emotions have an effect on our body's health and well-being.

This course is intended to educate practitioners, students and the public on the importance of the regulation of emotions and their role on our health and well-being. Students will learn practical application of using breathing, visualization and sounds to adjust emotions. Participants will also learn how these techniques can be used as self-care not only for emotional regulation but changing the physiology of the body through a hormonal shift that occurs through smiling, breathing and creating vibrations in the body through sounding. These are ancient Taoist practices that have been used as basic self-healing tools thousands of years. These practices are often referred to as Inner Alchemy.

Finding The Common Thread

While Western Medicine is slowly catching on that emotions can impact the body, the Taoists acknowledged the relationship between specific organs and specific emotions. They discovered meditative healing opportunities to create transformation in the body.
